Increase Sales with these easy ideas

Selling on the internet is not always easy and it can take a lot of practice and failure before you become successful. Here are a few ideas that work, that you can use to increase sales on your own site.

Publish a free ebook and give it away from your web site or in your e-zine. Your ebook will contain links back to your site, to your articles, offers, autoresponders and your ezine signup page. This will increase your traffic, increase sales and gain more e-zine subscribers.

In addition to selling your own products, join affiliate programs, and increase sales by selling other people's products and selling advertising space, either directly or by using Google's AdSense ads. This helps you to create multiple streams of income from your web site.

In your ad copy, give compliments to your visitors. It is important to treat visitors like the real people they are, not moneyboxes or "Users". It is a good way to earn trust and put them at ease. In return your visitors will consider your offers more favorably.

Only create new products or services if there is a strong need for them. Products generally do not create markets but luckily for you, many companies think this way and it is one of the principal reasons that small businesses can increase sales, even when competing with larger companies.

Sell backend products to your customers right after they order. Take them to a "Thank You" web page that includes other products you sell.

Limit the number of products you sell on your web site rather than selling many. Too many choices will overwhelm your visitors, especially if the products are not related and they won't buy. It is usually better to have one product or class of products per page.

Include content and free things on your web site that promote the products you're selling. Visitors are more likely to read your content than the ads and the content can lead them to read your offerings and increase sales.

Let your visitors know that you're human, not just a web site. Try publishing information about your family life, a picture of yourself or a profile.

Provide a "Contact Page" on your web site. Give your visitors as many options to contact you as possible. This will add credibility to your business. People are more likely to buy from people they trust. If they don't trust you, they are not likely to buy.

At the end of your ad copy, use a "P.S." and repeat a strong benefit or use a strong close like a free bonus. Some sites give away useless bonuses or bonuses that are in no way related to the main product - this is worse than no bonus at all. There is a reason that the most successful internet marketers and direct sales letters use a P.S. - it really does increase sales. Revisit sites that you have bought from in the past, especially those you bought from more than once. Try to understand what made you buy from them and incorporate those reasons into your own site.

Don't try to implement all of these ideas at once. Pick just one or two and determine the effort needed to implement them. Every one of them can help to increase sales, but the effort required for each varies.
